dear james,
my summer was lovely, yet completely unexciting. my hope is that this year I can make up for the complete lack of interesting events. would you care to help me with that?
love, valentine.

Hello Val
Sounds like you're summer was a bust to me. I'm sure I can do what I can to help make this year a more exciting year for you.

dear james,
and i'm so out of practice at wreaking havoc, so i suppose I'm going to have to consult the grand master of pranks. Mr. James, any ideas on how to greet those first years? My suggestion is something to do with something from magical creatures class.
love, valentine.

Hello Val
Ahh the traditional first year prank. I'm rather intrigued by a possible prank involving the magical creatures class. I'm pretty sure that if we combine our two intelligent minds that we can come up with a prank to end all pranks.

dear james,
Oh yes. It's a seventh year law to do something amazing, last year what they did was lame. Water balloons? Even Peeves had something more intelligent. What are those spiky magical creatures called-- the kind that look dangerous, but are actually harmless? Maybe those?
love, valentine.

Hello Val
I'll agree with you that last year's prank was the lamest. I almost wanted to choke out a tear in disappointment when I saw just how lame their prank was. This year I'm pretty sure that yours truly can certainly top last year. Now we're talking. Now I know why I love that brilliant mind of yours Val. With your brains and my troublesome expertise then this year's prank shall be the greatest. I'm sure we can easily stir some trouble with those particular creatures. Plus a few unique spells and treats from my uncle's shop; I'm confident that things are going to be turn out great.
Yours truly; James
